Ideas for Documentary/Documentary Content

When we got put into our groups we made a mind map of all the different topics we could use for our documentary.

Below is the mind map we created:

We went through all the different topics and After we all decided on the topic of make up. We all thought that this topic would have so many areas that we could show and look upon. We also mad a mind map on the topic of make up.
Below is the mind map on make up.

Below is also a mood bored about make up, it is just some images that represent the world of make- up.

Then we started to think what would be the aim of the documentary, and we came up with the concept of boys that wear make up and people who could'nt live without make up and then decided who we were going to interview and what we were going to ask them.

We came up with the idea to interview a boy that wears make up, a girl that wears make up, some one whohas to wear make up for there life style and a make up artist.

We could not get the make up artist in the end but we emailed 2 make up lines for men to see if they could give us any background information about there product.

Below are the two make up companies and there emails.

Hi Deanne,

Thanks for your email.
What follows is a brief summary of how Taxi London developed and launched ‘guyliner’ and ‘manscara’.
Our initial aim was to launch a female cosmetics range developing products to fit the brand name Taxi and the strap line ‘makeup on the move’, once established to then develop a complimentary capsule range of male products.
We had already accessed and sourced formulations which suited male skins, it was time to commit ourselves and press the green light to put ‘guyliner’ and ‘manscara’ into production.
The launch was pretty amazing, the phone never stopped ringing and in the first couple of weeks we conducted around 20 Radio interviews including BBC Radio 2 and 5Live, appeared on breakfast TV and CBS NY and featured (and still featuring) in many magazines and newspapers.
Not all the articles or interviews were complimentary, the products we were launching were complimentary products, when used correctly ‘guyliner’ can make eyes look larger, ‘manscara’ can tame eyebrows and give texture to eyelashes. It has been difficult to convince journalists/ interviewers that male makeup was fast becoming main stream, sitting alongside male moisturisers and other grooming products.

The products are selling well on the website and we are constantly receiving export enquiries which we are currently following up.

Hope this helps a little and happy to reply to any further questions.
Warm Regards
